Records in this series comprise those of the studies staff and director. They were generated in the course of initial work on the study and providing updates on the study. Records include those for the director of the study, the Rev. Dr. James M. Childs Jr., as well as requests and responses to various constituencies of the ELCA including synods, campus ministries, candidacy committees, social ministries organizations, and ELCA college and universities. These requests were either for resource persons, papers, or to hold forums on the study. These records also include those pertaining to the communications of the task force, not only the substance of what was communicated at various points in time of the study process, but also meetings of the communications committee and the development of a communications plan.
